Heidi founded Grassroots Finance to deliver high-end quality accounting and advisory services to growing companies. Through hard work, a love of the latest technology, and her inquisitive nature, she values getting to the root of an issue.
Prior to founding Grassroots Finance, she worked as an Accounting Manager for a small accounting firm that specialized in providing accounting support to companies from a variety of industries including professional services, real estate, e-commerce, and retail. She loves to work with small business owners to find their pain points and work through an effective resolution.
Heidi graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Accounting and earned her CPA license in 2001. She began her career as an auditor for Ernst & Young, which provided a solid foundation in proper technical accounting, sound internal control development as well as drummed a spirit of curiosity. After leaving public accounting, she ventured into the world of commercial real estate as a Controller working for a boutique asset management firm in San Francisco, California. After missing her family too much, she moved back to Michigan to work for a privately held $14B dollar food distribution company and became the Controller for a privately held REIT.
Heidi strongly believes in keeping on top of the latest technological trends to create efficiency and streamline processes to prevent errors and misstatements.
When she’s not working with her clients, Heidi loves to hike, swim, travel and spend time with her family.
